Şahver Kaya has 15+ years of hands on experience in growing B2B and B2C businesses at all stages of their lifecycle. Her brand “Olivita”, which she built on Lean Startup Methodology, was selected as a research topic for an award winning graduate paper at MIT Sloan School of Management in 2014. Since 2013, Şahver is a Guest Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management on Entrepreneurial Product Marketing and Entrepreneurship for the Marketing Management course, taught by Prof. John Hauser, designed to serve as an introduction to the theory and practice of marketing science.
After her successful exit from her startup in early 2015, Şahver received multiple offers from multiple well funded startups based in the Silicon Valley. In late 2015, Şahver was invited as the founding CEO to a cloud based digital marketing startup built on cutting edge machine learning and morphing algorithms that were authored at MIT. After creating the SaaS business model based on Lean Startup Methodology, hiring a CTO to create and develop the cloud architecture, completing the customer development cycle, and lining up the first customers in Singapore, Europe and the US, Şahver returned to Istanbul and supports the startup remotely, when needed; while helping other new high potential ventures in Turkey.
Şahver has been coaching and advising startups since 2012, when she was first invited to mentor at IBM’s Global Entrepreneur start-up competition. Since then, she has coached teams in Istanbul as well as in Silicon Valley. Additionally, Şahver has been also serving as a judge for the MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 Turkey edition.
Before becoming an independent business advisor with Entrepreneurship Ventures, Şahver was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at iLab Ventures in Istanbul. From 2000 – 2010, Şahver had progressively more strategic and innovation assignments at global B2B power houses such as IBM Software Group in Lexington, MA; Siemens Processes and Drives in Nuremberg, Germany; Deloitte Strategy & Operations in NYC; and Turkcell in Istanbul.
Şahver was the Founder of Olivita, Inc., which she grew in only two years to 600+ retail distribution points in 3 international markets (USA, India, and KSA), in addition to an online store in the US. Şahver’s B2B and B2C business acumen and entrepreneurship journey was featured in FORTUNE and CNBC. Olivita Inc. was acquired in early 2015, at which point Şahver became Executive Director of Entrepreneurship Ventures Inc., based in Istanbul.
Şahver holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, Cambridge, MA, USA and a Master [M.S.] in Information Systems from the Northeastern University Graduate School of Engineering, Boston MA, USA. She earned her B.S. in Physics and Mathematics at Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir, Turkey.
